Haul Part 1 | Makeup

Hello! After a couple of weeks of no posts it is safe to say that one is very, very due- and what a goodie I have for you beauty lovers. Whilst I haven't been updating my blog, I have been shopping and building up quite a pile of makeup and skincare, bits and bobs. Part 1 is going to show the makeup I have purchased as well as a couple of varnishes. Part 2 shall be skincare (best 'til last?)

I am happy to announce that I have made my first MAC eye shadow purchases to begin my pro palette collection (palette is in the post!). I am neutral lover, if I haven't got a simple slick of eyeliner on then it shall be some neutral shadows blended on my lid. Satin Taupe a hugely popular colour, and now I have tried and tested it I can see why. A gorgeous shimmery bronzed brown with hints of purple which flatter my eye colour. I can see this becoming a favourite. Another popular shadow, Shroom. This is a frosty creamy colour whist blends beautifully with Satin Taupe... a match made in heaven! Lastly, the only matte of the trio; Kid. I can't remember looking at this in the shop but nonetheless, it's a simple brown with a reddy undertone which works well with the others to add depth. Let me know if you have any suggestions of what ones I should look at next time.

Next, in my part-time home Boots, I was on the hunt for an everyday pink lipstick. After an arm full of swatches I found Pink Blush by Rimmel. At first I was a bit hesitant if it would look too bold but when on the lips it calms down is a sweet pink on the lips which is perfect for those days when you just want a little something on your lips. It has a little shimmer finish to it, not too glossy and hydrating on the lips; a nearly perfect combination. After all, you can never have too many pink lipsticks.

I am fully aware that when it comes to bases I love a medium/high coverage so I haven't yet delved into BB creams. Now that my skin is remarkably clearer than previously I feel more confident with less coverage, which brings me onto Clarins Skin Perfect BB cream*. Mine is in the shade 01 light (a pretty poor selection of 3 shades), however I find that this is still too dark for me and takes a lot of blending to get it nearly matching my skin tone. Maybe an application of fake tan is due. The formula itself is quite thick and manages to even out the skin tone, this finish feels light and non-oily.

The first of the two nail varnishes is Rimmel 60 Seconds in Sun Downer. This has quickly become a favourite of mine. After seeing this as a similar, cheaper version of the Chanel - Holiday nail varnish I simply couldn't resist! I'm admiring the gorgeous red/orange colour on my nails whilst I type this and falling in love with it more and more. For a fraction of the Chanel price, I think it's a pretty worthwhile dupe. The application was easy and it has yet to chip- everything about it ticks all the right boxes.

A bit late on the bandwagon with this one, but better late than never right? Seche Vite Top Coat, oh how amazing you are! Worth every penny, this topcoat dries my nails in seconds and leaves an extra glossy finish to the nail. Usually my nails are chipped by the next day (something to do with my habit of fiddling with my nails), but my nails still look neat and tidy... lets see how long this lasts.

I'm sure some of these may be popping up in some of next months monthly favourites (this months still to come!) but until then Part 2 of my haul shall be up very soon. If you have any of the MAC eye shadow recommendation's then please, let me know in the comments.
